How to Remove the Keyboard on a Lenovo IdeaPad Z565

If you are the type who uses his laptop every day, you may find that the keyboard is beginning to exhibit problems such as keys not jumping back after being pressed, keys not responding to input or keys registering double-presses. These are some of the typical signs of keyboard aging. If you find that your Lenovo IdeaPad Z565 Keyboard is beginning to hamper your work, you can remove it and replace it with a new keyboard.
Shut the IdeaPad Z565 down and place it face-down on a desk or work surface. Remove the battery pack and position the laptop so that the empty battery compartment is facing away from you.
Remove the four Phillips-head screws immediately below the palm rest of the IdeaPad Z565. Each screw has three icons next to it with shapes resembling a palm rest, touch pad and fingerprint reader.
Turn the IdeaPad Z565 over and open it.
Push the small release buttons on the sides of the palm rest. While holding the release buttons, lift the palm rest up and away from the IdeaPad Z565. If your computer has a fingerprint reader, gently wiggle the connector to remove it from the logic board. Set the palm rest aside.
Remove the screw positioned roughly in the center of the IdeaPad Z565. The screw has an icon next to it shaped like a keyboard.
Turn the IdeaPad Z565 over and open it.
Lift the Lenovo IdeaPad Z565 Keyboard out of the cavity in the center of the laptop. Wiggle the keyboard cable gently to free it from the logic board.
Reverse these steps to install a replacement Lenovo IdeaPad Z565 Keyboard.
